Eclipse Digital Solutions Ltd designed, installed and commissioned a new multi-site video management system (VMS).
The project incorporated all cameras from two main sites – Jersey Airport and the port of St Helier – as well as outlying estates. Approximately 160 cameras are currently deployed with plans for expansion already in place.
On-premise delivery of both primary and hot-standby failover servers to both sites as stand-alone, self-sufficient solutions gives Ports of Jersey senior management and security personnel visibility across all estate assets from a centralised control solution. The project also comprised centralised administration, alarm management and integration into existing IT services.
The new solutions were installed on the client’s existing domain environment, leveraging assets such as DCHP, DNS and NTP to streamline rollout across the entire organisation.
Due to stakeholders from various departments having an interest in specific portions and assets within the estate, Eclipse tailored the security and permission groups to suit, while using the existing Active Directory structure to maximum effect to provide seamless access. Users can access the system from their domain joined computers as well as through dedicated enhanced CCTV client stations across the estate.
